HISTORY TOUR NOTES:
You will enjoy learning about the colorful History of Covington Square. From Civil War stories to the many fires that reshaped the community, our town is rich in History.
We either sit on steps or on the grass in Square Park.
Cost:
Cost for this option is $5 per person for a 25 minute history lesson on the Historic Courthouse steps.
Tour Capacity:
The History tour can accommodate up to 100 people in one group or a "round robin tour" of smaller groups.
Tour Times:
The History tour time can be 25-45 minutes.
With limited access to the Courthouse interior, we will need to check the availability of the Courthouse Hostess.

Civics & History Tour Option for 5th Grades:
** We offer a Civic Lesson inside the main court room where we reenact a scripted Newton County Board Meeting .
*** We also have an option of a History lesson on the front porch of the United Methodist Church, built in 1864.
